(D1) Why is turning a picture around so hard?

I am now trying to breathe.  I have just spent half an hour and a whole pile of energy turning this picture around.  



I saved it the right way round on my computer but when it came to inserting it into myPortfolio, it was upside down.  I found the image and found how to rotate it but missed one vital part, the HUGE and very obvious (now!) button that says SAVE CHANGES.  Sigh...
